La grazia di Dio ci ha portato qui…

“Il postulato è la fase di formazione che prepara i candidati per il noviziato. Questo periodo mira a promuovere un buon discernimento vocazionale e viene speso in una casa appropriata della Congregazione, sotto la guida di un formatore”. (Costituzione e Norme – Congregazione delle Scuole di Carità)

Abbiamo celebrato la memoria della Beata Vergine del Carmine (16 luglio 2020), uno evento che ha un significato speciale per i nostri fondatori, P. Antonio e P. Marco Cavanis: il 182˚ anniversario dell’Istituzione canonica del nostro amato Istituto.

Nella nostra comunità Cavanis delle Filippine, celebriamo anche questo grande evento con l’accettazione dei nuovi candidati per la etapa del postulato: Carlo Lumacad, Jeack Yanson, Romel Ijago, Nick Art Avila and Dominic Basillio.

Insieme al gruppo di formazione, religiosi e seminaristi Cavanis, P. Armando Bacalso CSCh ha ricevuto i cinque nuovi postulanti.

Nonostante la strana catastrofe che il mondo intero sta affrontando, questi giovani rivelano che nulla può impedire di ascoltare e concedere la risposta al Signore che li chiama.

P. Armando, nella sua omelia, ha ricordato ai seminaristi le diverse fasi della formazione. Ci ha detto che quando sei un aspirante, sei come qualcuno che sta osservando la vita all’interno del seminario attraverso la finestra. Quando sei un postulante stai già bussando alla porta e quando sei nel noviziato, stai già a camminare nell’interno della casa… e puoi, la prima professione dei voti il religioso sarà incorporato alla Congregazione.

Che il Buon Dio ci rafforzi, in questa fase e che con la guida e l’aiuto del nostro formatore, P. Rene D. Sitjar CSCh, possiamo conoscere e vivere più profondamente la volontà di Dio nella nostra vita.

The grace of God has brought us here, And through His grace we will carry on.

“The postulancy is the formation stage which prepares the candidates for novitiate. This period aims to foster good vocation discernment and it is spent in a suitable house of the Congregation, under the guidance of a formator.” (Cost. 53)

The faithful commemorated the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on July 16, 2020. This event has a significant meaning to the Congregation of the Schools of Charity and for our founders, Fr. Mark & Fr. Anthony Cavanis, for the Congregation was canonically recognized by the Vatican authority. Here in the Philippines, we did commemorate also this great event with the acceptance to Postulancy of the candidates Carlo Lumacad, Jeack Yanson, Romel Ijago, Nick Art Avila and Dominic Basillio. 

Together with the Formation Team, the Cavanis Religious and the Cavanis Seminarians, Rev. Fr. Armando Bacalso CSCh, 4 Councilor of the Congregation of the Schools of Charity, received the five new Postulants, all in all, the Postulants now are eight. Notwithstanding of the odd catastrophe now the entire world is facing, these new five postulants proves that no pandemic like Covid-19 can stop them in saying YES! to the Lord who calls them. 

Fr. Armando in his homily, reminded the seminarians about the different stages of formation. He told us that when you are an Aspirant, you are like someone who is observing the life inside the seminary, without properly entering the house, when you are a Postulant, you are already knocking the door of the Congregation and when you are a Novice, you are already welcome to enter the house/seminary and after, when you will have your first professions of vows, you will be officially becomes a member of the Congregation.

The Eucharistic Celebration lasted for 1 hour and 15 minutes and the faithful (seminarians and religious) were able to witness the beauty and mystery of God’s calling. May the Good Lord strengthen us, new postulants and with the guidance and help of our formator Fr. Rene D. Sitjar, we may be able to know more deeply the will of God in our lives and we may be able to persevere doing His will until the end.
